Pensacola State College (PSC) women's soccer coach, Mark Yepishin, started with modest goals during the Pirates' inaugural season.

"Our initial goal was simply to complete the year," commented Yepishin as he observed his team practice on an uneven field at the PSC Pensacola campus. "Our focus was to play every game and remain competitive."

Remarkably, the Pirates went on to secure the NJCAA Region 8 Division II championship, despite lacking a proper home soccer field. Instead, PSC had to host home games at Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Field, located north of Nine Mile Road.

The future holds great promise, with the Pirate soccer team slated to have a new home field at the Pensacola campus next year. This exciting development is part of PSC's "Game Plan" athletics capital campaign, which received a groundbreaking $250,000 donation from Pensacola Sports.
